SPRING BRINGS MORE CHANGES TO LA PALMERA
New PINK store now under construction; Coastal Compass educational center prepares to open
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (April 2, 2013) – Construction is now underway on new additions to La Palmera.
Construction has started on a PINK store, new to La Palmera, as well as a new Victoria’s Secret. The two stores will be located adjacent to Benjamin’s near Center Court. Plans call for Victoria’s Secret to move from its current location into the space adjacent to PINK, creating a 12,677 square-foot divided retail area with separate entrances for the two stores. Offering underwear, lounge and sleepwear, beauty products and accessories popular with the college-age crowd, PINK, and the new Victoria’s Secret, are scheduled to open in June.
Construction is also underway on LongHorn Steakhouse, located at the front of La Palmera between Ulta and the food court entrance. Announced in November 2012 and scheduled to open this fall, the 6,500-square-foot restaurant is the first Coastal Bend location for LongHorn, the popular steakhouse known for its fresh and expertly prepared steaks, chicken and seafood will feature patio dining.
The Coastal Compass Education and Resource Center, a not-for-profit organization assisting with educational and career related needs, is scheduled to open in April just outside the doors of La Palmera near Ulta. Announced last summer, the center will assist clients with numerous educational and job-related goals, including financial aid to assist in earning two- and for-year degrees, adult literacy, GED, ESL and dual enrolment, as well as job placement, all free of charge. DICK’S SPORTING GOODS SUPERSTORE AND CORNER BAKERY CAFÉ COMING TO THE SHOPS AT LA PALMERA
Initial construction phase now underway
FORT WORTH, Texas (February 5, 2013) – Trademark Property Co., the Fort Worth-based retail and mixed-use development, investment and services firm, today announced Dick’s Sporting Goods, one of the largest sports and fitness specialty retailers in the U.S., and Corner Bakery Café, the popular fast-casual restaurant, will open this year at The Shops at La Palmera in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The 61,233-square-foot Dick’s store will anchor the 200,000-square-foot redeveloped and rebranded center, located across from the award winning La Palmera mall. Construction on Dick’s is set to begin in February with opening slated for fall 2013. The retailer currently operates more than 480 stores in 44 states.
Scheduled to open in May of this year is a 4,166-square-foot Corner Bakery Café, serving its signature fresh and made-to-order food. Corner Bakery offers a casual atmosphere featuring innovative, seasonal menu options ranging from hot breakfasts and signature paninis to handcrafted salads, sandwiches and mouthwatering sweets. Corner Bakery Cafe currently delivers its premier bakery cafe experience in 140 locations across the country.

The initial renovation and construction work has already begun at The Shops at La Palmera, which willundergo a major redesign to be completed in late 2013. The new design of the property will complement that of La Palmera, which is located across from The Shops at La Palmera. La Palmera underwent a two-year $50 million renovation after Trademark and Institutional Mall Investors LLC purchased the property in 2008.
